The Underrated Legend – Rahul Dravid

A guy who hasn’t got enough credit for what he has done for Indian Cricket. A guy who came conquered & left silently without any farewell.

A cricketer who hardly have any hater, a simple living style, pure family man & all of above a true gentleman on & off the field.

Rahul Dravid, the wall

We all know him as a Test match specialist but how many of you know he is one of those few cricketers with 10,000+ runs in Test as well as ODIs. Holds the record of 2nd fastest fifty by an Indian.

Interesting Fact

  1. He had announced his T-20 international before his debut, yes you heard right! Ironically his debut T-20 match was last T-20 international he played. Who can forget the 2011 tour of England were all other Indian batsmen were suffering, he scored 3 centuries & fought like a lone warrior, some elite innings like Adelaide, Kolkata.
  2. Very few of us know but he had represented Scotland as well.

“After opening the books of CA I doubled my efforts in cricket – Rahul Dravid”

The Wall – Much deserving title one could give

I heard somewhere, Sachin is the God of cricket, Ganguly is the God of off-side, Laxman is the God of the 4th innings but “when Temples are closed even the God is behind the wall” justified, isn’t it?

Some Famous Quotes Said by Cricket Fraternity which proves there can be only one Rahul Dravid

  • You ask Rahul Dravid to walk on a water he will ask, how many miles? – Harsha Bhogle

Why so selfless?

Many would be wondering why I’m saying that i.e. he is one of the most selfless man ever who has played this game.

He had many offers from BCCI to become Indian senior cricket team coach but rather than joining senior team & earning in millions he chose to work with India A cricketers. Hence India is getting ready-made raw talents like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Rishab Pant who become matured enough to fit into the senior squad.

Conclusion

India is really blessed to have a person like Rahul Dravid. He doesn’t have any World Cup trophy doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve that, it simply means world cup trophy doesn’t deserve Rahul Dravid.
