India tour of Australia or Tour of Injuries

Tour of Injuries! Yes, indeed. In the current Indian tour of Australia, if we say nothing is going India’s way at the moment then it isn’t wrong at all.

India tour of Australia

India was already missing the likes of Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the problems seems to be never-ending for the visitors.

Before the start of the test series, Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini got injured. In the very first Test at the Adelaide Oval in addition to 36 all out, Mohammed Shami got injured.

India came back strongly at MCG (Melbourne cricket ground) despite the absence of Virat Kohli and Shami but the victory overshadowed the injury of Umesh Yadav which was again a crucial blow for the Indian team.

So before even reaching SCG India had already lost Ishant, Bhuvi, Shami, Umesh which is nothing but the bunch of India’s prominent fast bowlers along with Bumrah.

India played at the SCG without their full strength and 3 debutants in the series. And guess what things got worse for them as Rishabh Pant got injured, Ravindra Jadeja got hit on the thumb which ruled him out from the rest of the series. More headaches for India just before the Gabba Test.

This India tour of Australia 2020-21 reminds us of India’s tour of England back at 2011 where India had to bear the loss of 4-0.

Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Yuvraj Singh everyone was crumbling like a card. India almost played that series with their B squad.

Similarly, India is playing with its half strength due to the constant injuries throughout the entire Australia tour.

The only difference is that current India’s bench strength is good enough to put a decent fight against any team at any pitch and in any circumstances.

In fact, India’s bowling is the only thing which has kept them alive in the series despite the poor show in batting, dropping the Dollys & sitters in the field.

Apart from all this, India would be hoping for no more injuries further or else another humiliating series loss isn’t far away
